SCG Promotes World Summit Award Celebration
Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009As part of SCG’s pro-bono initiatives, we had the opportunity to work with the IPv6 Forum to issue a press release promoting the World Summit Award (WSA) and World Summit Youth Award (WSYA) Winners’ Celebrations which took place in Monterrey, Mexico.
The four-day conference and gala celebration provided a unique opportunity to meet and connect with WSA and WSYA winners, information and communication (ICT) experts, multimedia producers and young creatives. In addition, government and business leaders were in attendance to recognize the showcased best practice examples.
The WSA’s global contest on creative content takes place every two years as a follow-on activity to the United Nations World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS). This year 545 national finalists from United Nations Member States were selected by 34 eminent e-Content experts. The submitted projects from 157 countries participating in the fourth edition of the WSA were nominated in one of eight categories to receive global acknowledgement as the world’s best in e-Content.
The WSA is a global not-for-profit activity promoting the most outstanding achievements as a flagship partnership initiative of United Nations Global Alliance for ICT and Development (GAID) and in close collaboration with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Internet Society (ISOC) and a worldwide network of partners.
SCG was honored to work with the IPv6 Forum and the WSA around the promotion of such a prestigious event.
