SCG Becomes VCU Internship Provider

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

Internships are the best way to gain hands-on, relevant experience in the public relations industry.  Here at SCG, we want to offer students the opportunity to take part in a valuable learning experience that will prepare them for the road ahead.  That’s why we’ve teamed up with Virginia Commonwealth Univeristy, becoming a part of their internship program.

vcuimage-logoWe’ll be offering students the chance to learn in a fast-paced, high-tech environment, develop keen career skills and work with senior PR professionals who look forward to sharing their knowledge and experience.

Interns at SCG will have the opportunity to write and coordinate the production of client materials, research and qualify editorial and speaking opportunities, create and update media contact lists, and participate in the growth of a small business.

If you’re a student and interested in this opportunity, please feel free to contact us.  You can check out the full internship description on VCU’s Mass Comm Internship Blog.

The article credits Joya with pioneering a new kind of public relations and points out that she was the recipient of the IPv6 Forum President Award for Public Relations for IPv6 Deployment.

WORKMAGAZINE is a quarterly publication focusing on career life in the Greater Richmond area. It profiles individuals in the region who “…have surmounted the odds to create new products and services or who have put a contemporary spin on existing markets.”
